"Hogan's Hero" is my first art quilt. It appears on page 85 in the Student Gallery of Rose Hughes' new book, Dream Landscapes Thanks Rose!
Hero began as a wonderful photo taken by Hero's mom, Doreen Pesce. He is hand chain stitched and appliqued onto the quilt. 3-D leaves and geraniums complete this piece.

"Fine Feathered Friends" was stitched between 2003 and 2008. They  can be seen on page 68 of Leora Raikin's book Safari Through African Folklore Embroidery, 2008. It shares the page with my pink giraffe stitchery. Ten other designs are also in the book.
 My 2nd publication credits!

Meet "Sweet Adelaide, AU" my second art quilt.  She is the first quilt shown in the Student Gallery of Rose Hughes' second book, EXPLORING EMBELLISHMENTS. The book was published in June 2010.
This is the 3rd vest I have created for Jon. He wore it on the Australia 2008 trip.
"Mrs. McQuarie's Lorries" - named for the life sized Rainbow Lorikeets we saw in Mrs. McQuarie's Park in Sydney Harbour.

"Downtown and Cocky, Too" was created for our January 2008 trip to Australia.
The cockatoo is hand chain stitched with Jean's thread and DMC metallics.  It is appliqued to the denim jacket. The raw edge is covered by hand braided Kumihimo cording.

The "Butterfly Bag" - 2007

First original design. DMC thread chain stitched butterflies. Flower motifs from lining fabric. Kumihimo braids cover seams and are used for the draw strings. Beaded tasselfinished it off!
